Fire, Police and Ambulance were called to the scene of the Road Traffic Collision on Halifax road, Bradford at around 16:30hrs today (12/08/2015). The smash happened near to the junction with Prospect street and involved 2 vehicles a Ford KA and a Nissan Qashqui. Onlookers were stood in the Tesco car park as the incident unfolded. The road was closed and traffic diverted through the Woodside housing estate along Fenwick Drive.
An occupant of the white Qashqai had to be removed after being medically trapped in the vehicle. Firefighters removed the roof whilst ambulance crews dealt with the casualty. Once the roof had been removed and under paramedics instruction the casualty was removed from the vehicle on a backboard. and then to an awaiting ambulance.
Police would like to hear from anyone who saw the collision and can be contacted on 101.

Update !! Man with severe burns in Critical Condition after being taken by Air Ambulance to Hospital
A man who was airlifted to hospital yesterday lunchtime from Lonsdale street, Barkerend, Bradford, has since been transferred to Wythenshawe hospital in Manchester. He is described to be in a critical condition and being treated for his injuries in the specialist burns unit.
The man had been found in the rear yard of the property after reports that he was on fire at around 12:30 on Sunday (09/08/2015).

The man in his 40's suffered severe burns to his upper body and head.
Fire crews from Bradford and Odsal stations along with paramedics administered medical assistance until the casualty was stabilised and ready to be removed from the area to the awaiting air ambulance.
The casualty was taken to the Leeds General Infirmary initially with his injuries described as severe burns.

The police are investigating the cause of the incident and anyone with information about the incident are requested to contact them on 101.
