Fire crews were called to the scene on the M1 Southbound between junctions 47 and 46 at 14:13Hrs this afternoon 26/02/14. Crews found the double decker bus now used as a Film crew canteen unit well alight. 

Firefighter uses 1 Hosereel jet to cool engine compartment

Police and Highways officers attended to sort out road management issues which included closing the carriageway,  while fire crews used 1 Large jet, 1 Hosereel jet and 2 Breathing apparatus to deal with the incident. There were also no casualties involved at the scene.

Bradford Firefighters find Cannabis Factory

Two crews from Bradford fire station were called to a house in Dudley Street, off Dick Lane,Tyersal, at around 4am today 25/02/14.
The fire broke out in the loft and crews soon discovered it had been sparked by electrical equipment servicing a cannabis growing operation. Police were asked to attend the scene. Bradford Crew Commander Collins said the roof joists and other items in the loft had been burning. He said: “Most of the damage is to the roof, so the roof will probably need replacing". No adjoining properties had been affected, and no-one had been hurt.

Elderly man in Elland House Fire Drama
Fire crews from Brighouse and Elland were called to a terraced home in Park Road, Elland just after 8am today 25/02/14.
It is understood Mr Cresswell the occupier was in bed at the time. He was awoken by his smoke detectors going off. 

Watch Commander Johnstone, of Brighouse Fire Station, said Mr Cresswell  had put out the flames himself. Mr Cresswell called the fire service and got dressed before leaving the smoke-filled house. He was taken to hospital suffering from smoke inhalation.
Fire damage was limited to the heater and a table it was standing on,
upstairs was heavily smoke-logged and the house was cleared with special high-powered fans.

Firefighters rescue three people from an overturned van after collision
Two crews from Wakefield Fire Station were called to the Road Traffic Collision on Durkar Low Lane just after 9am today 25/02/14.
A Ford Transit and a Jaguar car had collided near to Broadlands Farm.
A spokesman for West Yorkshire Police said no one was seriously injured however 3 people were trapped. Extrication was carried out by fire service personnel and casualties then transferred to hospital by ambulance.

Great Horton Road, Bradford closes due to Multi vehicle RTC.

Great Horton Road was closed to traffice for around 2 hours last night (20/02/14) due to a serious road traffic collision involving at least 5 vehicles. Police, Fire and Ambulance attended the scene outside the Maestros Pizza shop.

As yet no details have been released surrounding the incident however it is thought that no life threatening injuries were received to any of the casualties involved. Casualties were taken to Bradford Royal Infirmary by road ambulance.

Burglar arrested in rooftop drama by Police using Fire Service Aerial platform in Wibsey, Bradford.

Shortly after midday today Police were called to Holroyd Hill in Wibsey, Bradford after reports of a burglary. As a means of escape the male suspect forced his way out onto the roof by removing tiles and then leaping across to a neighbouring row of terraced houses.  Police officers, PCSO's and the Police Air Support Unit were sent to the scene.

Abuse was shouted towards police and passers by the man from the rooftop. Officers had to standby and a Police dog Unit was requested. Police closed the main route through Wibsey to all traffic and buses were diverted whilst the incident unfolded.

As negotiations with the male took place the Fire Service was requested to attend to assist should a rescue be required.

It took 2 hours before the drama came to an end with the male being talked down by officers. The area around the block of terraced cottages was completely surrounded by officers.

The male could not climb from the roof and was brought safely to the ground using a Fire service Aerial Ladder Platform.

Police Officer ascends to arrest the man

The police officer used the Aerial Ladder Platform from Leeds to go up and rescue the male, who was arrested.The male was taken into custody by the Police and once the area had been secured the road was reopened.
