The Fire at Swallow Hill Mills on Tong road was dealt with by over 40 Firefighters which started during the early hours of this morning (10/05/2015). The Units mainly used as offices involved in fire reached reported temperatures of 900 degrees celsius.

| Fire crews remain damping down |
Crews from Leeds, Stanningley, Hunslet, Batley and surrounding areas were required. The fire was so hot that some of the internal beams have been seriously affected, so much that there are concerns about the safety of the structure. Fire crews who were inside the building had to be withdrawn due to safety issues surrounding the structure

The fire which was first reported at around 04:00 am this morning was reported to be under control by 07:30. Structural engineers will examine the building and at present the cause of the fire is under investigation.
