A workman became trapped behind a metal shutter leaving him stranded between the shutter and the stores large windows in Kirkgate, Bradford this afternoon

TDF Clothing store on Sunbridge Road called the fire brigade after they realised that the man was trapped and unable to free himself. Appliances attended from Rawdon, Odsal and Cleckheaton.
Firefighters were able to release the man using hydraulic cutters and spreaders. Kirkgate remained closed to traffic whilst the operation took place. The man was released without injury but distressed by the situation.
Once released the man who has not been named was allowed to recover from his ordeal.
