Crews were alerted at around 6.30 pm tonight to a building fire at Stockbridge Tyres in the mill complex off Aireworth Road in the town. On arrival the property was well alight and assistance was required making this incident up to eight pumps and 1 Aerial appliance.
The fire involved a multi use garage approximately 80m x 20m , covering two floors. There was exposure risks on the site and these look to have been saved.

The incident was sectorised with most of the firefighting taking place in defensive mode. Two Ground Monitors with two Large jets with two CARP appliances being used as water towers.
Appliances, from Keighley, Ilkley, Bingley, Shipley, Idle, Rawdon, Fairweather Green, Bradford and Halifax attended. Supervisory officers along with the Command Unit Light and Welfare Unit also arrived at the scene
Police attended and closed off Aireworth Road to traffic but left room for pedestrians to access its full length along the footpath.
Graham Ambler, West Yorkshire Fire & Rescue Service group manager, paid tribute to the first crews on the scene. He said their prompt actions helped prevent the fire spreading to adjoining businesses.
The firefighters used a water 'curtain' to stop the flames spreading to the units either side and Group Manager Ambler said "They did a fantastic job and deserve huge credit".
Update!!! One CARP appliance and a pump remained at the scene overnight damping down and investigations into the cause of the fire are now underway.
