Fire crews were called out again tonight after smoke was spotted coming from the White Swan public house in Wibsey. Fire crews this time from Odsal, Fairweather Green, Bradford and Cleckheaton attended. The call around 9:00pm was the second fire within hours at the High Street site.

The fire was not visible
from outside the property but heavy smoke issued from the fire in the roof area of the pub. Crews used ladders to access the roof from the front while the CARP (Combined Aerial Rescue Pump) was used at the rear of the building. This second incident of the day appeared more severe than the earlier incident and more resources were drafted in to tackle the fire. Crews used 2 small jets, 1 hosereel jet, Breathing apparatus and CARP appliance.A fire investigations officer attended the scene. Salvage work has been started to help protect parts of the property not affected by the fire and minimise water damage.
