Elderley person suffers smoke inhalation in severe Birkenshaw House Fire.

Fire Crews responded to a House fire on Bradford road, Birkenshaw just after 07:50hrs this morning. When crews arrived they found a severe fire at the rear of the property on the ground floor. Two breathing apparatus crews used 4 B/a sets and 2 Hosereel jets to tackle the fire.

An ambulance was required for an elderley male casualty who had suffered from smoke inhalation, after being attended to at the scene he was taken to hospital by ambulance.

Rear Ground floor of the house image shows the severity of the fire.
Fire appliances were sent from Cleckheaton and Batley to the incident where Positive Pressure Ventilation Fans were used to clear smoke from the houses. Crews could be seen checking adjoining homes to confirm that the fire hadn't  spread.
