Take-away fire in Bradford overnight.

Fire crews attended a fire at Barkerend Fisheries on Otley road, Bradford late last night. The shop at the junction of Otley road and Undercliffe Lane involved the ducting from the frying range.

Six workers on the site quickly evacuated the premise and were outside the building when the first fire crews arrived after the call was received just before 11pm last night. 

Fire crews had to remove plaster and cut out timbers close to the pipe on each of the property's floors to stop the fire.

CARP used to tackle fire at height.
Fire in the ducting spread to roof of the property. 10% of the building was involved of this 15m x 10m property. Firefighters used 2 hosereel jets, 2 B/A's and the CARP appliance. 
Appliances from Bradford (2), Odsal (1), and Fairweather Green (1) attended.


Police attended to enforce the road closure of Undercliffe Lane, whilst crews dealt with the fire.
