They set about tackling the fire and their early intervention prevented a more serious fire from developing. Crews used 2 Large jets and a jet from a CARP appliance to deal with the incident, with crews attending from Bradford (2), Fairweather Green (1 + CU + Welfare Unit), Odsal and Idle.
A West Yorkshire Fire Service spokesman said it was believed the blaze took hold after people in the mill started a fire to keep warm. He added that drug paraphernalia was also found in the building.
The incident was made up to Five pumps but was soon reduced when the fire was under control.
