Two Children rescued from Bolton Woods Quarry, Bradford by Firefighters

Two boys both aged around ten have been rescued by fire crews tonight, after fire crews were alerted at around 7pm to a report of persons trapped on a ledge in the Bolton Wood Quarry, Bolton Hall Road, Bradford. 


On arrival it was established that two children had become trapped on a ledge approximately 20' from the ground.  A firefighter was lowered by line to the ledge below along with a ladder and the boys were then recovered using the ladder, helped down by firefighters.
The boys although shaken up by their ordeal were both recovered without sustaining injury


Appliances from line rescue stations were sent to the scene with appliances from Bradford (2), Shipley, Rawdon and Cleckheaton with the Technical Rescue Unit. Police and Ambulance also attended the scene with further support from the Calder Valley Search and Rescue team.
