Driver rescued from overturned car in Pontefract Crash

Fire crews along with Paramedics and Police were called at around 9am to the scene on Park Road Pontefract by the M62. A BMW car had left the roadway and landed down an embankment. Fire crews needed to use winches to secure the vehicle. The incident took around 2 hours to complete with the casualty being taken to hospital by road ambulance.

The incident required a full road closure whilst the incident was dealt with. The male driver was reported to have serious but not life threatening injuries.
The Road remained closed for several hours whilst police investigated the cause of the collision. Anyone who witnessed the collision or the vehicle in the moments prior to the collision are asked to call the major collision investigation team on 101
