  Shipley Derelict Bingo Hall Destroyed by Fire

This was a Building fire in a now derelict bingo hall. Approx size of the property was 40m X 20m and of three storey's. The ground floor and second floor were involved in fire. Flames came through the roof as onlookers watched the drama unfold. In total Fire crews used 5 Ground monitors and 2 Aerial appliances.  There were no injuries or casualties involved. West Yorkshire Fire used a defensive operation throughout the incident due to the unsafe nature of the building.

Fire Crews pumped water from the canal at the rear of the incident, with the below image showing the unsafe structure with the wall already starting to bow inwards.

 A number of roads around the incident were closed whilst the incident was dealt with. They remained closed today as safety teams decided that the building should be demolished.
