Driver who crashed on M62 while drunk fails to appear at Court

Update on an incident from October last year

The driver of the Blue Zafira involved in the collision which left another driver trapped in her car, Joroslave Balaz from the Marshfields area of Bradford failed to appear at Crown Court today after earlier being bailed by Kirklees Magistrates . Balaz a Slovakian national was charged with offences of Dangerous driving, driving whilst over the prescribed alcohol limit and driving without Insurance.




After leaving the Hartshead Moor services Balaz drove east along the westbound carriageway colliding with numerous vehicles, the worst of those an Audi driven by Mrs Kaye, from Holmfirth. Mrs Kaye was trapped in her vehicle and needed to be cut free by firefighters, she suffered serious injuries to her spine. 
An arrest warrant has now been issued for Balaz for failing to appear.
