Parts of Bradford Road leading onto Northgate in Dewsbury were closed this afternoon 04/04/2015 after a fire in a building. The top floor of the property was well alight when fire crews from Dewsbury station first arrived.
The fire was made up to 3 Pumps and an Aerial with the extra resources coming from Batley and Wakefield. Fire crews were swift in tackling the fire which looked as if it could spread to the rest of the businesses in the multi occupancy building. Firefighters entered the building in Breathing apparatus using a Hosereel to help stop the fire spreading whilst other crews used 2 Large jets from outside.
Appliances attended from Dewsbury (2), Batley(1) and Wakefields Carp. The fire appears not to be suspicious and no persons have been involved or injured at the scene
