The first incident at Amberley Court, Bradford Moor, Bradford was attended at just after 1 am today. This 1st floor of flat in a block of a maisonettewas 100% involved. Fire crews from Bradford and Idle attended and used 1 hosereel jet, 2 Breathing apparatus and a Positive Pressure Ventilation fan were used. A casualty was rescued by the Fire Service from an adjacent property using a ladder. They suffered smoke inhalation and taken to hospital by ambulance.
The second incident at 01:07hrs today involved a Road Traffic Collision in Legrams Lane, Listerhills, Bradford. It involved a single vehicle that crashed into a wall.
Two women were freed by firefighters from the wreckage after removing the roof of the red Vauxhall Corsa the driver having lost control and crashed.
Fire Crews from Odsal and Fairweather Green attended the scene.
The third was another Flat fire in the Barkerend area of the City.
The call to Brookfield Road, Pollard Park came in at just before 01.45 hours today. On arrival crews from Bradford, Shipley, Stanningley and Rawdon found that a male in his 20's had jumped to safety from a first floor window leaving a female to be rescued by firefighters using a ladder after they became trapped in their smoke filled flat.The flat had become smoke logged after someone had set fire to a Wheelie Bin outside the flats and under a staircase. Both casualties suffered smoke inhalation and were taken by ambulance to Bradford Royal Infirmary for treatment.
Watch Commander Earl can confirm the cause of the blaze was being treated as arson and police were investigating.
