Bradford firefighters were kept busy with numerous fires across the district during last night
Odsal crew attended with Fairweather Greens small fires unit to a large grass fire in the Odsal area at around 9:30pm yesterday.
At approx 2.50am today four crews were called to a house fire in Northallerton Road Undercliffe. The initial call was a persons reported shout.
No-one was found in the house which was badly damaged in the blaze and no injuries reported. A fire investigation team is at the scene trying to establish the cause.
Fairweather Green station were busy with a fire in the open on Brooksbank Street at 10.50pm yesterday and later again at 12.22am today after a sofa was set alight outside a house in Back St Mary's Road West, Manningham and spread to the house. The back of the house is damaged and a gas pipe ruptured so the gas board had to come and isolate the gas due to it leaking. Three occupants escaped from the blaze after the smoke alarms went off.
Firefighters were also called to the former Hollybank Cafe in Great Horton Road shortly after midnight, after a pile of rubbish outside the building was set on fire.
They were called out again, at 1.20am, to a fire inside the building itself.
Odsal Crew commander Neil Harrison said: “There was a fire on the ground floor, in a couple of rooms. It was severely damaged on the ground floor.
