Serious Road Accident at Whitehall Road, Wyke

Three fire crews, police and ambulance paramedics attended the scene this morning (27/07) at Westfield Lane with it's junction of Whitehall Road. A heavy goods vehicle and 2 cars were involved in the collision. Fire crews had to release occupants of one of the vehicles by removing the roof from the car. This occupant a female was described to be in a bad way. Air ambulances took her to hospital.

The road was closed for the air ambulance to land and for police to carry out investigation work.
Paramedics and fire crews from Odsal, Brighouse and Cleckheaton attended

The main A58 was closed throughout the duration of the incident with buses being diverted and some disruption to local roads.

It is reported that the WY Police helicopter attended to search for someone who had made off from the scene, Investigations are continuing.
